Save the finished image as both a Photoshop document (.psd) and a flattened image for print (.tif or .jpg) that will be used in a layout program (InDesign, Illustrator or Gravit)
Utilize type to create an effective, eye-catching book title that describes your image in a page layout program (InDesign, Illustrator or Gravit)
Save both a native layout file .indd or .ai or gravit and an exported PDF version
File Management:
You will have 4 main files in your final job folder: "P1-BookCover"
1 Photoshop file P1-bookCov_LastnameF.psd - which will contain layers, effects, etc.
1 tiff file: P1-bookCov_LastnameF.tif- which will be a flattened version (or .jpg in Gravit)
1 InDesign file P1-bookCov_LastnameF.indd (or Gravit or Illustrator)
where you will place your tif file and incorporate text for your title.
1 PDF file P1-bookCov_LastnameF.pdf
will be exported from InDesign when complete

Find an image you would like to work with and colorize:
historical person, celebrity, artist, musician, actor, military hero, leader, athlete, inventor event - WWII, Civil War, Frontier era, building or our country (any era), world events like Titanic, planes, trains, automobiles, skyscrapers, sports, etc. etc. etc.
I will leave this as open-ended as possible.
Images should be 600 pixels or larger to ensure adequate quality
· They do not have to be black and white, you can desaturate a color image in order to colorize.
Start a NEW Photoshop document 7.25" H X 5" W, 200 PPI, RGB color mode [See above for filename]
Copy/paste or place your image (as a layer) in your Photoshop document as a layer.
If you have an initial color image, use Black & White or Desaturate to remove existing colors. Create layers (set to color mode), with color overlay set to color layer blend (layer style), and foreground color set to black.
