Course Project: Idea Submission

During this course, you will be putting together a course project. During this module of the course, you will submit project ideas to the course instructor for review. This review will ensure that there is enough content within the idea to support a course project.

During this exercise, you will be playing the role of a Systems Analyst and Project Lead during an implementation of an information systems related project of your choice. The goal of this project is to take you through the stages of planning, analysis, design, implementation, and maintenance, with a heavy emphasis on planning activities. You are required to submit your Idea Submission in this module.

Project ideas should include:

Involve the interests of multiple groups of individuals within an organization (Management, Database Administrators, Programmers, and End Users)

Require some monitoring of costs (You may need to acquire new hardware and software)

Involve the interaction of more than one system (Web Servers, Databases, Networks, Etc.) Examples of project ideas could include: Implementing a new website for a company, Developing a new Database for your sales department, Launching a new student portal for your college.

Include the following when submitting your Project Idea:

1. Project Name

2. Company or Organization Name

Fictional company names are allowed.

3. Project Description

What is the end goal of your project?

Why is important to the organization?

What value would your project idea add to the organization?

4. Project Stakeholders

Which groups of people in the company will have an interest in how this project turns out.
