As artificial intelligence tools get better at generating code debugging applications and doing tasks over and over a lot of developers and students are wondering if programming will still be a skill in the future. My blog is on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.codeavail.com\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.codeavail.com\/\">AI vs Human Programmers<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While artificial intelligence has definitely changed how software is developed, the idea that machines will take the place of programmers is pretty much not true. Instead artificial intelligence is changing what developers do. It is helping them work faster, smarter and more efficiently. If we understand what artificial intelligence and human programmers are good and not good at we can get an idea of what the future of coding might look like.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Rise of Artificial Intelligence in Software Development<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Artificial intelligence is now a part of how software is made. Artificial intelligence coding assistants can generate pieces of code, suggest ways to make it better, find mistakes and even create applications from what people say.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Developers use these tools to do tasks such as:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Writing code<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Generating documentation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Refactoring existing programs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Finding syntax errors<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Creating test cases<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Optimizing performance<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>By doing tasks that are repeated over and over artificial intelligence lets programmers focus on the complicated and creative parts of software development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However with all the things artificial intelligence can do it is still just a tool and not a complete replacement for what human programmers can do.
