$20M Mega Millions jackpot won in New York in first drawing

The Mega Millions jackpot has been won in back-to-back draws after being unclaimed for months.

According to the Mega Millions website, one ticket purchased in New York during the drawing on Tuesday matched all six numbers to take home the $20 million jackpot.

The $1.348 billion Mega Millions jackpot won in Maine on Friday is a far cry from this.

Along from winning the jackpot, a ticket purchased in Massachusetts that included the Megaplier and all five matching white balls also won $3 million.

For Friday's drawing, the jackpot will start over at its current beginning amount of $20 million.

According to the Powerball website, the jackpot for the current drawing is $439 million with a cash option of $237.3 million.

The winning numbers in the drawing on Tuesday night were 2-12-18-24-39, with the Mega Ball being 18 and the Megaplier being 3X.

Each ticket costs $2, but for an additional $1, you can add the Megaplier, which increases your chance of winning by up to five times the initial prize.
