18-year-old buys 1st lotto ticket, wins $48 million Canadian dollars

When Juliette Lamour reached 18, her grandfather advised her to do something fun like buy a lottery ticket.

She took home the entire $48 million Canadian (approximately $35.7 million) LOTTO 6/49 Gold Ball reward from the draw on January 7.

When Lamour learned that her lottery ticket was the sole one to win, she was still at her job as a pharmacy assistant.

Her supervisor, a pharmacist, relayed the news to her after checking her ticket numbers on the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation app.

She responds, "No, you didn't! Lamour narrated. There were coworkers behind me. My mother is being told to "Come get her!" "Come get her!"

"She arrived to my place of employment, and I gave her the ticket. I felt such fear. I already made a shaky signature "She went on.

On February 3, Lamour, a resident of Sault Ste. Marie, received her winning check. She has now broken the record for becoming the youngest winner of a significant jackpot in Canadian lottery history.

The 18-year-old stated in a news release, "Once school is out, my family and I will choose a continent and start touring."
